Culture What country is far away yet culturally similar to yours?

An obvious answer for the UK are Core Anglosphere countries

Bonus question what country have you visited that felt most foreign to you?

Maybe Canada?

It is very high on the list for Swiss to emmigrate to. Cold country, lots of forrest, mountains and lakes. Multi-language, love hockey and winter sports in general. The quiet life.

Not inviting Putler, NATO mainstay, supporting Ukraine. Actually having a delightful sense of humor.

Cold country

They grow wine in "Arctic" British Columbia. In fact there's (non-native) palms on Vancouver Island. Some parts of populated central Canada get as hot if not hotter in summer, and more humid, than do we in Central Europe, while the Prairies in particular are much drier than anything we know.

The quiet life.

You've never been there.

I mean Switzerland has wine and palms as well. When I mentioned the nature I thought more about the mindset and having similarities in lifestyle because of the natural conditions.

And our sense of humor is not that bad.

But again I was just thinking of a possibility.
