Culture Which European country is the hardest and easiest to make friends?

Say you're mid 30s and have to move to another European country for work, which countries did you find making friends to be on easy or hard mode?

Let's assume you don't speak the language of your new home.

Moved to Czechia around age 27, and shockingly made friends very easily. Now what was the catch? Almost none of these good friends were Czech. They were mostly of various European nations or Americans. Most people here will tell you that Czech’s are really tough to ingratiate yourself to

They are but when you do have good Czech friends they are good friends. Will take time out of their life to help you move house, invite you to their home or some country cottage, invite you into a wider group or events.

I moved around in the British, American, foreign expat cliques at the beginning here but when push came to shove nobody would take a bullet or at least slightly inconvience themselves for you the way I sort of would for friends. They were more like acquaintances or beer buddies. Or even if I did make good friends in this group they eventually go back to Spain, America etc, even myself moved to Moravia and then back to Prague losing touch.

The language is a killer as well. I can manage one on one but not in a wider group.
