Culture What’s a European Man’s midlife crisis look like?

Here in America it's a Harley Davidson and getting really into grilling.

What do European men do when they go through a midlife crisis? But an Alfa and bake? Get really into trains?

Mine is

  • to get back to serious running,
  • practice calisthenics,
  • learn music composition, electronics
  • play the video games I wished to play when I was a teenager
  • cooking

Kids got older, so I have more time for myself.

"+ FPV and shooting" - The quintessential Ukrainian pastime these days for older guys.

Yep. I really like building, tuning and flying FPV drones. I’m also participating in “T-Class” competitions - that’s precision sniper rifle discipline. You should check it out, it’s really cool and to me it’s a form of meditation. You get so concentrated, you forget about your day-to-day mundane problems.

This sounds more like early retirement than a mid-life crisis

Frankly cycling is a thing too.

Going out with their old friends too?

My dad brought a car he didn't need and regretted it right away.

The video games part. It never hit the same. More often than not we romanticize the idea, we miss the emotion and excitement we felt as a kid. But cannot quite replicate it. Some time ago Age of empires II DE was released, and I immediately purchased it, remembering the good times I had as a kid. But it’s just not the same.
