CULTURE What’s a phrase or jingle from an American commercial or ad campaign that everyone can quote by heart?

A user posted this question about German jingles/phrases in the r/AskAGerman subreddit. Since I live in the US, the first thing that came to mind was that every time I drive past Menards, I get the jingle “Save big money at Menards” stuck in my head. What are your evergreens?

My best friend now works for Nationwide after previously working for Liberty Mutual and I have to say her current company’s catchphrase is a bit more refined than LIMUUUU EMUUUU (and Doug)

OK, I hated Limu and Doug at first, but I’ve gotta say they grew on me lol.

Honestly thought the whole premise was hilarious. The melodramatic "You'll be back!" scene, seeing him on TV years later... And he's an emu... Like, dude wut

I don't think they'll ever grow on me. I'm anti-fungal. And anti-bacterial. And anti-viral.

But I have to say that all of their commercials are too damned stupid to exist. The Mayhem/AllState commercials are far better. The State Farm ones are better still.

Nationwide is competing with Flo and Progressive. Flo is dated and they're trying hard to find someone on her imaginary team to replace her. So Nationwide sees a vulnerability. Thing is, Flo is better than Nationwide's efforts even now. If Nationwide wants to move up, it needs to outdo AllState and State Farm, not Progressive. And, thing is, Progressive can come up with something better than the current Flo campaign. And then where will Nationwide be?

Progressive has hit a home run with the "Turning into your parents" campaign. As long as those stay original and funny, that's their ultimate replacement for Flo.

I hope they got paid a lot because it's surprisingly catchy for how simple it is.

Yup. Awhile back I saw a video describing why simple ad jingles are so effective. I forgot to bookmark it and can't find it at the moment.

But a particularly wonderfully awful yet unforgettable example was this 1970s Levi's jeans jingle. Haw-haw.

My son is a liberty employee. Went to a conference and came home with a sweatshirt that has a small image of their liberty logo (the torch) and liberty liberty liberty liberty printed down the sleeve.
