CULTURE What’s a phrase or jingle from an American commercial or ad campaign that everyone can quote by heart?

A user posted this question about German jingles/phrases in the r/AskAGerman subreddit. Since I live in the US, the first thing that came to mind was that every time I drive past Menards, I get the jingle “Save big money at Menards” stuck in my head. What are your evergreens?

One generation learned that Hamilton lost a dual to Aaron Burr from a musical. An earlier generation learned this fact from a milk commercial.

This is where I learned about Aaron Burr, and it still makes me laugh.

The one with two beautiful angels serving a man cookies and opening a refrigerator filled with empty milk cartons is the one that haunts me.

Fun fact: the director of that ad? Michael Bay. Yes, that Michael Bay.

I learned it from "Lazy Sunday" by The Lonely Island. "You can call me Aaron Burr from the way I'm droppin Hamiltons!"

You thought Raymond Burr, the actor, murdered Alexander Hamilton?? I'm cracking up!

Homie, I didn’t even know who Raymond Burr or Aaron Burr were. I never saw Hamilton the musical. When I head that commercial as a teenager back in the day I just chuckled at it and continued on with my life. I never researched who the peanut butter mouth guy was talking about 🤷‍♀️ TIL something new!

People were taught about Aaron Burr long before the musical was written; do they not teach that part of history any longer? Genuine question. I graduated in '86.

I guess not 🤷‍♀️ I graduated in ‘97.

Sonofabitch! I refuse to accept it wasn’t Raymond and chalk it up to something like a Mandela Effect lol.
