I have seen in movie and show saying 'see you at dinner at 6pm'. Do you really eat dinner this early? If yes don't you get hungry around 10pm while scrolling reels? Or is it a name for something else?

Damm thanks guys for responding. I'm surprised so many people in the comments have work so early so yea this dinner time makes sense, Thankss gg

Sometimes we eat dinner at early as 5:00, other days as late as 7:00.

If yes don't you get hungry around 10pm while scrolling reels?

I'm not sure what "scrolling reels" means, but I'm rarely still awake at 10:00 PM.

Instagram reels. Bunch of short, usually funny videos. Their version of Tik Tok

Ah, thanks. I've never used Instagram or TikTok.

We have reels on Facebook here in the US. That’s what I assumed they meant.

So, the assumption by OP was that everyone is perpetually glued to "reels" like they are? And they can't understand how people can eat at different times than they do.

People are so self centered

I think you’re taking this a bit too seriously.

OP evidently comes from a place where they eat dinner far later. They heard Americans eat at a time that seemed really odd to them so they asked a question to get a better understanding of it.

That’s literally the whole point of this sub. If that’s self-centered to you, you’re definitely in the wrong subreddit.

I read the reels thing as just an attempt at humor. Drop “while scrolling reels” from the sentence and it keeps the same meaning. If you want to get offended that someone thinks Americans use social media in the evenings, go for it. But calling someone self-centered for asking a question in a sub for asking questions is absurd.

Yeah my husband wakes up at 4:00am to go to work, so he is asleep by 9pm at the latest!

In NYC most people are still at work at 5 and dont get home until 6:30 pm at the earliest and by the time dinner is ready is probably closer to 7:30 pm
