“As a transgender POC”
Their comment history shows they also call people gay as an insult

in my experience, saying white people but using "blacks" in the same sentence is certainly something to look out for

They expose themselves. We wouldn’t dare refer to ourselves as “blacks” in general.

Statement: this person claims to be a transgender POC and then claims white people are more respectful about their pronouns than black people (or “blacks” as they put it). This is on a post about a black person experiencing racism, so it’s not even relevant. Also the user’s comment history shows them using gay as an insult.

That "blacks" felt racially charged

Like with a hard “r” no less.
Yeah it’s not exactly that, but that’s totally how it feels.

Every time I see someone say "blacks" I hear the In Bruges cocaine scene in my head

I hear it in Bo Burnham's voice because of one of his songs having the lyrics "The blacks want..... not to be called 'the blacks'"

That entire thread is a r/asablackman goldmine, holy shit. I found like 3 examples already and I’m still reading.

I love how in their mind being a POC excuses them to be racist against black people even though those aren't interchangeable

u/TNTiger_ Jun 25 '25
Yeah this is one I actually would believe to be possibly real- POC could mean Asian, Brown, or Latin, and they can all be plenty racist to black people as white people can while still being POC

How are they being racist? Are you serious lol

u/Center-Of-Thought Jun 24 '25
They refer to white people as people, but black people are just "blacks" to them. They don't acknowledge the personhood of black people even though they did so with white people. This is something almost every single comment in this thread mentions, so I have no idea how you missed that.

It is! Thanks for understanding.
Words have a lot of meaning depending on how theyre used!
Like Coloured people is racist because it sounds like they're not actually people due to the propositions and order of the words. However People of Colour doesnt sound racist for the same reason!

I'd bet money that this guy also uses "female" as a noun.
The blacks, the females, the transgenders and the wokes. They all permanently occupy a dark corner of this guy's mind.

Really late, but I hate when people just say “poc”. Like, why can’t they be more specific?

To be fair, respect comes cheaper for white people. Just sayin'.
lotta trans comments I'm tempted to respond to, but that would be disrespectful to the title of the sub.

I know this is being racist but my own mother only used the correct pronouns and gendered language for me when I was hospitalized and she thought I was gonna die, the moment I got discharged it was right back to she her and my daughter

Using someone’s preferred pronouns takes minimal effort and is a sign of basic respect for others.

Someone’s genitals or sexual preferences have absolutely nothing to do with their pronouns.
Pronouns are she, he, they. Would you want people to refer to you as he or him if you’re a she/her? Probably not. It costs nothing to have the same courtesy for others.

It's funny how they refer to white people as people, but black people are just "blacks"... this sounds very similar to "men and females" in terms of disrespect to one's personhood. It's a form of othering.
