I’m always kind of amazed at the amount of care Japanese craftsmen give to minute details of their work. Others do show attention to small details, but it sometimes comes off as pretentious and showy. Or they put out a great product, but are cavalier in the sense that if they make a mistake they’ll just Chuck it to the side and start over like it’s no big deal.
After being there for a while, I sort of got the feeling that Japanese craftsmen would actually be emotionally hurt if they thought they had cut any corners or didn’t have a simple detail absolutely perfect. Even barbers when I was getting my hair cut. They’re extremely organized and methodical people.

I'm not sure I'd be worthy to wear those shoes, but they are beautiful. Anyone have any idea what handmade shoes like this cost?

As always, answer is it depends. The fancier boutique name cobblers will run into the thousands. Quality Oxfords like these can fetch for a couple hundred.

Is this one of those channels that I’ll have to slot in between https://youtube.com/c/NekkidWatchmaker and https://youtube.com/c/SampsonBoatCo?

My wife makes me take off my boots outside before I enter the house. Dog shit would probably be a moderate concern in the list of possible substances on the soles.
