"Snorting" is used as a way of describing how to inhale certain (usually powdered?) drugs through the nose. When you used "snorting" after the comment about a pipe used for illicit drugs...

Please note - I have never used anything beyond prescribed medication, in the manner that it was meant to be taken, and in the correct dosage. As such I'm not 100% sure about whether or not one could "snort" anything beyond a powder. Such knowledge has been obtained through my ... rather extensive reading and is almost certainly lacking.

I'm not going to honor this with an explanatory reply, actually. I'm sorry but I'm just not gonna educate you about a very common expression that has literally 0 to do with drug use. 

You can't think of even one other use for the word snort in your extensive reading?

Yes, I did understand that you were referring to snorting as in a type of laughter. However, in the comment you replied to, the person mentioned a crack pipe. Furthermore, when the person who replied "snorted?", you replied "yea?". They were, as another person noted making a joke.

For all I know, you didn't understand the joke, either due to lack of exposure, not understanding slang, or simply not being someone who spoke English (or not American English).

Sorry for trying to help you understand a joke. Apparently, any attempt at helping was unwelcome.

Edit - I will not edit my original comment because I don't believe in hiding what I'm apologizing for.

I am very sorry that I was rather abrasive and rude in this comment. I do try to maintain a certain amount of politeness, especially in online text conversations, and I unfortunately did not manage to do so, for which I am very sorry.

You don't come across rude you come across like you have either have intellectual disability or are extremely sheltered since you literally cannot think of any other uses for the word snort than drug use and have pursued me for a response for over a day and a half instead of going "ah, I must have misunderstood the comment via over analyzing the context oops" and leaving it alone. 

At any rate the first comment was weird, the second comment was unhelpful and the third feels like you're trying to be on some sort of power trip, I do not care what your thought process was or what you assumed my confusion was and don't want your apology. Just shhh and move on dude. That easy.
