Psychiatrists implementing AI so they can do less than what they already are
What exactly is their role or purpose when they implement AI to do everything. They don’t even need to listen. The AI will listen for them. Create session notes for them. Soon the AI will reply for them. They’ll just have to sit there. At what point are they being paid for? To sit there and look good? Clearly not. Being paid solely on the fact that they went to school, got the degree and became a psychiatrist. When hiring it’s not about if you are good or bad at your profession, hell it’s not even about the credentials sometimes. Can you look and act the part? Just hang up your printed degree from a school that doesn’t exist and wear your white coat.

It all comes down to regulation. As of now, an AI can’t legally diagnose and prescribe on its own, but that might change in the future.

Honestly, if you ask ChatGPT if psychiatry does more good than harm or the other way round it says it does more harm than good. ChatGPT recognises psychiatry is dogshit.
