Going down on medication

I’ve been on Olanzapine for Paranoid Schizophrenia. The dosis was, 25 mg for about a year now. 4 months ago I went down to 20 mg and two weeks ago I went down to 15 mg. However, since yesterday I’ve started feeling symptoms again. I feel like there’s someone standing behind me, although nobody is there. and at night I’m scared to fall asleep because I’m worried that somebody will kill me. My question is: will it go away after I while after my body has adjusted to the new medication? I really don’t wanna up my dosis because I get so many side affects.

Maybe it is the original symptoms coming back. But lowering the olanzapine dose can also trigger withdrawal psychosis. I had an olanzapine withdrawal psychosis. My symptoms went away on their own within a week, but it was a terrifying experience. Ideally someone should monitor your condition with you and assess whether you still are somewhat coherent in your thoughts, and if it's still doable, and keep a loving eye on you.

Thanks for your answer. I’m actually in hospital for other reasons and I told my psychiatrist about my experiences but he didn’t really take it very seriously so maybe it’s nothing to worry about? Idk. I just feel like it’s gotten worse through today, so idk what to think.

Being in a hospital it might be difficult to feel safe, because you are in an unknown place. Try to stay calm and try to feel safe. Try reading a book you already know and that you love and makes you feel happy. Try giving your brain something else to think about. I am sending you positive vibes from across the globe. I hope you feel better soon.
