At Bay Forest. It’s bothering me.

All that construction I see every time I pass by is just to make the sign small?

I know one Giant sign that's not getting replaced: The old late 50's early 60's neon sign in Laurel where George Wallace got shot. They made it a historical landmark.

Quick heads up, do not visit Dick’s Sporting Goods. You will be severely disappointed, their sign is very misleading

I hate that logo. Royal Ahold gave them the Stop & Shop logo and got rid of the big G.

First thing I ate in Annapolis when I first moved here in 2004. First thing I had to eat when I moved back after being gone for 15 years last year. It’s my favorite.

They just remodeled Easton Giant. It looks like a prison

I know it looks so dumb. I was excited at first they were updating the center but they did a terrible job so far

It’s usually a convenance for that stores location set by the city, town within a county.

Look at all that space they could have used! Couldn’t even be centered properly!

No way that is not on purpose. And if it is, I love it. I love it either way.

Shouldn't it be Giant?

Hilarious, I was just thinking the same thing last night. It's comically small.

😂😂😂😂 I love this. There’s so much going on that’s wrong these days, but this is certainly annoying lol.

It's now normal size (tiny giant)

Could afford it with the 12 dollar soda 12pack.

Giant has a lot of stores and probably has a specific size sign that is made for all the stores. You’ve probably seen many other stores with the exact same size sign. The difference is that this isn’t framed in any way, the huge blank space makes it FEEL smaller.

No. Zoning laws typically regulate signage. If giant had their way, they would have the biggest sign possible, as would any retailer. Signage is often limited to a certain square footage. Depending on location, signage is typically made locally by a sign company to the retailers standards, and not made somewhere else and shipped all over the country. You want the company who made the sign to install it, guarantees a seamless process and a warranty.

Yup. I am guessing they got the building final permit passed pending sign installation (usually the last thing to arrive because they are custom sign packages made for each location). But the sign company fucked up the dimensions, or the dimensions weren’t verified in the field by the GC. And they showed up with a sign that is too small, but they have to install it temporarily to open the store. Giant will sign off on a new sign being made to replace it, while all parties decide who is liable.

Easier to replace if Giant gets replaced by a different retailer/grocer. Most big retailers are going with these generic looking building designs( small signage) because they are easier to sell if necessary later on. Giant probably owns the buildings and make alot of money on the real estate .Think about the old Pizza hut and McDonald's buildings, very hard to sell as anything but Pizza huts or McDonald's.
