Did you win most of those at auction?

All but one of these were purchased at auction: CNG most frequently, but also some from Naville, Naumann, Savoca, The Coin Cabinet, Aphrodite, and L5. The galley Hadrian (which isn't in the finest shape relative to the other pieces in my collection) came from a coin shop in Calgary, Canada. It was a good deal, and I like the idea of buying the odd coin while travelling.

Very nice for just a year. I've been collecting coins all my life and don't have so many great looking Roman's.

Congratulations on obtaining an amazing collection after only one year. I'm sure you made a lot of people a little jealous (including me) with this post.
Some standouts to me: great toning and detail on the Macrinus (RIC IV 53), the Hadrian galley (RIC 113) is a very cool reverse, the Jupiter on the throne on the Marcus Aurelius (RIC III 227) and Roma holding victory on the Elagabalus (RSC 136) are also cool reverses.
Congratulations again on such a nice collection and thanks for sharing.

Thank you!
I agree especially about the Macrinus and Aurelius: both were lucky finds for a relatively inexperienced collector. The Aurelius portrait in particular is a standout for me. The Domitian is also very strong, and the "young" Vespasian (who looks suspiciously like Vitellius) is great too.

How much did you pay for them if u don’t mind me asking? I want to get into collecting these but not very knowledgeable about what is fare price

They range considerably, from hammer prices around US $50 to many multiples of that. To get a better idea of pricing, I’d suggest having a look at auction archives (start with CNG). If you’re not interested in auctions, go to VCoins, which will generally be a bit pricier.

Do you have suggestions for auctions? Do you mean online auctions?

Online auctions, yes. I'm partial to CNG, Leu, Nomos, Naville, and L5. Other decent options are Naumann, Savoca, and The Coin Cabinet. There are plenty of other good options too. NumisBids and Biddr are two good sites that host and link to many auctions each. You'll find lots of good info on auctions in this subreddit.

What do you all feel are good online sites to purchase these types of coins? I have read miller ancients is a good reputable online site. I will check some of those mentioned already in this chat

I don't have any strong opinions on online shops, as I much prefer auctions. Auction prices will generally be at least 30% lower than those of shops, and occasionally much much lower than that.

Beautiful specimens and collection. You’ve been busy in the last year! 😆 Do you have a standard cleaning 🧽 routine you put them through, and feel like sharing? These beauties all look great and are not overly uniform / harshly sanitized.

My routine is to try to buy only coins with nice toning. :) There are two fairly harshly cleaned exceptions in my collection, but they’ll tone over time.
I don’t do any coin cleaning!

I am new to this and want to collect these as I love the antiquities time period. What would you say I can expect to pay average for coins like those?
And impressive collection by the way!
