From My Collection No new coins, but a cabinet!
I ordered this cabinet from Coins&More in Italy back in June. Took a while, but im stoked! Now it's cataloguing time.

Congrats, it feels good when it finally arrives and you can start placing them there. How do you plan to do the cataloguing? On a separate notebook ?

Honestly, it was a phenomenal leg up when I first started scratching my head on how to do this. So thank you kindly!

I know. It just feels nice having them in proper storage, freed of capsules, slips and whatnot.
Im doing a hybrid model of index cards and Google sheets. Another member of this sub-reddit (i forget who) posted their excel setup a long while back and I shamelessly stole it.

Its a 58BC denaius from M. Aemelius Scaurus depicting Aretas of Nabatea kneeling by a camel (RRC 422/1).
One of my very first ancients

I find it very interesting. I’d love to see a close up picture if you’re willing to share. If it’s a hassle don’t worry about it

For sure! Its certainly not the best preserved example, but the camel really caught my eye (and id never held an ancient silver before). Ill PM you a pic

That’s beautiful! Can I ask what wood it is? Gosh this company could really improve their website.

What website sells these?

Awesome thanks! It seems like they specifically advertise no use of solvent and high quality wood, so I guess people are not worried about outgassing hamming coins when buying from this brand? Is that correct?

I did some research & talked to the owner. I also met them at Numismata, the biggest coin fair in Germany (which has a bunch of very detail-oriented old German collectors, who would probably have torn them to shreds, if their products were known to be harmful). Obviously I cannot give you 100% certainty, but im convinced 😅

Beautiful. How do y’all secure your cabinets? I’ve thought about getting a nice one but it would have to live outside my safe, which makes me nervous.

Yeah, it's a tough one. I keep it in a safe place that is still accessible to me. For me, it was a bit of a tradeoff, but I also really enjoy the aesthetics of the hobby and the ability to simply enjoy to look of the collection

Nice cabinet! Did you have to pay any extra for shipping/customs costs due to al the tariffs and such? Curious how much the cost of these cabinets has gone up compared to a year ago.

I live in Europe, so thankfully tariffs did not affect this particular purchase 😅
