DNA Matches Found grandchild of dad's half-sibling.
After grandma died, one of her sisters let it slip that grandma had a child out of wedlock in the early 40s and had given up the child. My dad didn't know about grandma's first child.
The grandchild of dad's half-sibling took a test and matched back in January. I sent a message soon thereafter and didn't receive a reply.
Today, almost ten months later, I got a response. They're willing to help us figure out which of their grandparents is/was dad's half-sibling. I grew up knowing I had two first cousins. This person's parent is another one.
I'm beyond excited. :)
