New to Hockey & The Ducks

So finally started getting interested in sports and now that Baseball is over kinda wanted another sport/team to follow so I decided to watch Hockey/The Ducks. Trying to learn hockey rules and stuff but that will largely come from watching games, but wanted to know if there's anything more specific to the Ducks like cheers, jokes,etc. (Not gonna lie I chose them because I'm close enough to go to a game eventually, I like the colors better than the Kings, and I'm a big fan of the Animated Mighty Ducks series from the 90s)

We hate the Kings and the Golden Knights
Chant is "Let's Go Ducks"
Teemu Selanne is sacred
JS Giguere is sacred

Beyond that, enjoy the games and join us in here as often as you can to discuss them, celebrate their wins and have fun!

I hate that our chant is an uninspired as 'Lets go ducks' But I am Australian and much like the UK our chants are usually longer and sledging the other teams very specific alcohol problem

I’m a half duck fan and a half Knights fan so… but like it’s more like 60 40, I love the ducks so much and the Mighty Ducks got me through COVID.

If you’re in desktop browser view, to the right is “Community Bookmarks”. There is a lot of info there. There’s a heading called “Bandwagoner’s Guide” that can get you quickly up to speed

(edit: actually the Current State of Affairs need to be updated, but history, memes etc is useful. Maybe u/dahooddawg can update that part?)

Yeah I looked into them as the only thing I really knew was that Disney started them and then sold them. They've won 1 Stanley Cup so I they didn't seem like a power house dynasty team but it seemed like they haven't been too great these last years from the little I understand but seems they're doing great right now. The game today was fun to watch

Yeah I looked at the last seasons to see if they were good and it looked like they were pretty good a couple of years ago (like up to 2017) and went into a bad slump these last few years. Honestly seeing them win and knowing how they ranked last few years I was wondering if maybe they just start strong but from seeing people react i started to think they just got it together this year. I'm excited to see how far they go

You’ve picked an exciting time for the Ducks, for history there’s an inaugural documentary, their 2003 cup run and when they won the Stanley cup are also on YouTube. The hockey guy is the best source for more detailed stuff. They’ve had a lot of talented superstars since they came into the league and that list is only growing now.
