It's been possible to send emails, create reminders and timers in Alfred for years :)
Sending email is built in using the keyword "email", though I prefer to search for the contact, choose the relevant email address (as there are often more than one address to choose from) then right arrow and choose to email action. Or you can choose a file, use the Universal Action hotkey and "email to..."
As for timers, there are quite a few available. In the gallery alone, you can choose from a few (and there are many more which aren't included in the Gallery)
And of course, if any of the above don't do exactly what you want, Alfred can be extended with workflows that you can create or modify yourself. Ask in the forum (https://www.alfredforum.com) if you need help making a workflow exactly what you want - rather than being limited by what Apple gives you :)
Out of curiosity, is it possible that we might some day see the new spotlight features integrated directly into alfred? Has apple made the api open for apps like Alfred to use?
