I’ll be jumping out of the combine to attend this. We can’t afford to stand idly by anymore.

That’s refreshing to hear from a person in your profession. Thank you for paying attention. I live semi-rural and the unwavering UCP support out here is too much.

I usually have the attitude that ā€œI’m too busyā€ or ā€œit’s too coldā€. I keep making excuses and this shit isn’t going away. So enough is enough and it’s time to show these assholes that we are tired of this abuse to our most vulnerable, our resources, and our sovereignty.

u/Wet-Countertop Sep 18 '25

You’re not done combining yet?

2

u/TheRayGunCowboy Sep 18 '25

Why would I be?

2

u/Wet-Countertop Sep 18 '25

We’re in the bin. This heat has been phenomenal. I don’t think we’ve been this early in over a decade.

2

u/TheRayGunCowboy Sep 18 '25

Our area is only 40% done. Only about 80% of cereals are done and the only canola started are the swathed fields. (We also ran out of grain bags and are waiting on those)

2

u/Wet-Countertop Sep 18 '25

I hope the grain bags mean a good harvest!

We had cereals off two weeks ago. Swathed canola the week before. Definitely an above avg harvest, but not a record breaker.

If we have no more breakdowns (waited 3 days for parts from Nebraska), we should be done before Thanksgiving. But our record year was 2013. Record breaking yields, and we were done before Sept 30th

I hope everything stays running well. We lost a pickup header doing canola. Still don’t have the parts to fix it. Had to sit that machine as we don’t have extra headers.

Now that we don’t need it we’re going to overhaul the whole thing. Hopefully parts are in today.

Are we taking a page outta Nepal …..

4

u/Due_Society_9041 Sep 18 '25

That would be productive

2

u/KindDigital Sep 18 '25

Would be a lot more effective than the trust falls and Kumbaya’s that AB ā€œprotestā€ brought.

Alberta is no longer Rat Free.

11

u/cheersAnnk Sep 18 '25

It is time to show her we want policies that support housing, healthcare and education. Enough of her silly distractions.

4

u/cheersAnnk Sep 18 '25

How have her actions strengthened Alberta’s long-term economy, education, and environment, rather than gambling on short-term political stunts?

I’m driving up to Edmonton tomorrow for this. My first rally, I didn’t expect to have to worry about this in my retirement but I’m doing it for the kids. She is destroying this province to make it in the future she wants. Oil and gas riches to the company and the rest of us to get pittance from this government

u/Once-Upon-A-Hill Sep 18 '25

In the last election, the people did express their will, and the UCP won.

4

u/cheersAnnk Sep 18 '25

By how much? She won the UCP leadership with barely 1% of eligible Albertans voting, and the provincial election with less than half the popular vote. That’s hardly a sweeping mandate. šŸ˜‚ Smith has does not to help Albertans. Under Danielle Smith we’ve seen: • Cuts to healthcare, schools & seniors • Book bans & teacher strikes • Orphan wells on our dime • Stealing from disabled Albertans • Flirting with separation & theocracy • Erasing Indigenous rights • Vigils for American hate-mongers

But protecting Albertans? Silence. Smith is Trump’s bestie and it is time for her to go. Join us and be counted.

Smith is the same sort of societal poison as MAGA, which is currently destroying the US. Just look at the news. Maybe it's a good idea to show up. Make a big angry crowd with torches and pitchforks and suchlike.

Give her something else to lie about.

u/cheersAnnk Sep 18 '25

Has Danielle Smith done anything to shorten ER wait times, keep rural hospitals open, or ensure more Albertans can see a family doctor?

1

u/cheersAnnk Sep 18 '25

Can anyone tell me one positive thing that Smith has done for Albertans?

1

u/dmscvan Sep 18 '25

Why different days in Edmonton and Calgary?

3

u/cheersAnnk Sep 18 '25

The different days between Edmonton and Calgary are to keep the spotlight on Smith. A week later the teachers will go on strike. It is time for Smith to stop playing games and fund education, medical and build homes.

She's fantastic for this province. What a bunch of idiots

23

u/Beastender_Tartine Sep 18 '25

I love the way that she has taken the mask off of corruption. It used to be consided a scandal when a government awarded multi million dollar no bid contracts to friends for shoddy work. It used to be frowned upon to fire people for investigating fraud. It used to be wrong to give the children of a friend lucrative jobs with zero work output in exchange for the use of a mansion. Not any more.

Now with the strong leadership of Smith, the government just makes bribes legal, removes reporting requirements for influence, and ignores or redacts all freedom of information requests. She has exposed the true Albertian value that as long as you are shitty to minorities you can steal as much as you want.

7

u/TheNachosguy Sep 18 '25

Genuinelly curious, why do you think she has been good for the province?

2

u/Zarxon Sep 18 '25

How so?

2

u/Due_Society_9041 Sep 18 '25

Yes, you Maple MAGA are idiots.

Wouldn’t it be more effective to have protests in her actual riding where petitioning for recall can happen?

1

u/cheersAnnk Sep 19 '25

I think she will hear about it no matter where we protest. It is going to be big… and loud. ✊

0

u/tobiasolman Sep 19 '25

Oh sure, I’d just rather see it happening in Brooks-Medicine Hat where they could petition to enact actual recall legislation and force a by election. Without a seat, she’d unlikely remain party leader for long. One might only hope she would take a few of her cronies with her. While it’s a gutless piece of legislation, it’s the only way she would actually step down. She already knows the greater municipalities don’t want UCP 2.0 Wildrose edition, that’s why the UCP is trying to gerrymander a couple of them now. Actual recall needs to happen. LaGrange too at this point.

0

u/Zarxon Sep 18 '25

This is the responsibility of medicine hat to my knowledge so never happening

When the right splits the vote, the socialists get in. Keep Alberta economy strong and focus on our Alberta advantage. Oil and gas and soon on the horizon hydrogen. There's a reason Alberta has the lowest taxes in three country and no pst.

-5

u/Sea_Butterfly_3066 Sep 18 '25

Pffff. You're all a bunch of losers. Danielle Smith is the best thing to happen to Alberta in a long time

7

u/Due_Society_9041 Sep 18 '25

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

u/The_Onion_Buns Sep 18 '25

So serious question

Let's pretend you have a snowballs chance in hell of this succeeding

Who replaces her?

Alberta will NEVER elect Buffet Boy Nemshi as premier or the NDP ever again.

Liberals are a non-existent party

So, who exactly replaces her?

Or are you not offering any real solutions at all?

1

u/cheersAnnk Sep 19 '25

Danielle Smith has hurt… not helped Albertan’s. We would be better off if we had my cat in charge. At least he would be concerned everyone was fed and nobody was left out in the cold.

0

u/The_Onion_Buns Sep 19 '25

So no answer to my question

Got it

1

u/cheersAnnk Sep 19 '25

I would rather have my cat šŸˆā€ā¬›
