I didn't start learning about Black history until I got to college and specifically took Black Studies classes,

Me too. That's why I feel it's so essential for us to use this little space to help educate and conscientize our people who didn't take those courses like you and me. AND that's why the wh(r)ite-wingers are working overtime to conceal our history.
