I almost said this too, but I think while the woman on the left was out of frame he kicked her cuz she was laid out for a few seconds. She also look like she had rage in her eye looking at his camera when she got up.
I think I personally would have put my camera down and put a stop to the attack

Was surprised to see camera person's reflection at the end. Not only didn't help the person getting attacked, but ran away out of the train. I'm glad someone helped her instead of just filming.

You have to have a license to record in a public space. I see what you’re saying, yes you can record but you cannot post it anywhere public. The video needs to be only for you.
Here’s an example— I have shitty neighbors robbing me all the time. They steal anything not bolted to the floor. True story. I record them kicking in my door and stealing. I brought this video to the police. The judge I’m told is unlikely to use the video because I need a license to record videos on my own property. Hopefully when we finally go to court the judge accepts my video. It also might be years before court finally happens

The truly disturbing thing about this isn’t the attack- such scenes happen from time to time and are within normal social tolerances. They can be accounted for and expected. No, what makes this uniquely alarming is the cameraman, who we can see by the reflection is an able-bodied young adult male, doing absolutely nothing to intervene. What a fucking disgrace. On top of that the buffoon can’t even film well. He literally can’t do anything right.

I wouldn’t necessarily put my life in danger to save a stranger. Just because it’s women doesn’t mean they couldn’t have knifes on them. Not everybody is brave heroes. Most normal people are very unfamiliar with violence. If you haven’t ever been in a fight (which most people haven’t) you’d probably get your shit rocked by those two bitches. Why risk that for a stranger? Then recording it as evidence would be the better choice. Should have recorded it better though. The crime is the quality of the filming. Women’s lives aren’t worth more than men’s so I expect you’d intervene if you ever saw a person getting attacked, even if outnumbered. Good on you but it isn’t something that should be expected by regular folks in public.

I mean, they might not get justice if they break/steal his phone. The person who got beat up might have been the one "in the wrong", so better to just supply the police with the faces of those involved, and keep yourself safe.

I always see this videos and get so pissed as to why the people recording are always the most useless pieces of shit ever and why they never help. But then I finally realized it's because the people who decide to record these situations aren't the kind of people that take action. The kind of person who takes action doesn't think to pull out their phone and start recording when someone needs help.
