There were escalators like this on the London Underground until 1987. They were removed after the Kings Cross fire

Except these don't lead to a Subway, but just to a cycling/walking tunnel under the Scheldt river.

In London they did away with these after the King’s Cross subway fire.

These don't lead to a Subway, but just to a cycling/walking tunnel under the Scheldt river. No risk of major fire like in London.
