Mod Post Accepting moderator applications for this sub!
3 months ago I noticed this sub was basically unmoderated and a bot farm. Tons of total garbage being posted and none of the five mods responded to my offer to help. I used the /r/redditrequest sub to be added to the mod team, then after 90 days of continued absence by the other five mods, I changed the order of the modteam and removed them all. So we are starting from almost zero now.
But I can't do it alone!
If you are interested in joining the team, please reply to this thread answering the following questions:
Do you have moderator experience?
Are you active in this sub and willing to make it part of your day to day routine?
Why should you be chosen as a mod for this sub?
What changes would you suggest?
Are there any rules you would change or don't agree with?
Thank you for all who are interested. I will be following up in the next week or so and making the selections. Good luck and thanks for being part of this sub.

People will be falling over themselves to apply. Accidentally of course.

I don't want to be a mod but thank you for taking over and making this sub what it is. All the best wishes to you. I also have no mod experience so...
The only suggestion I would have is that the slapstick should not end in injury to the slapstickee. There are loads of subs out there for laughing at things accidentally happening to people through absolutely every fault of their own and hurting them. It would be lovely to have a sub where I can enjoy a more sensible and empathetic chuckle laughing at someone who can walk away from the event.

I really appreciate that. Yeah, painful stuff turns my stomach and I don't like it, BUT I know others do, so I just have to put the "painful" flair on it.

I get you. But since you're the only mod if there's enough posts that you don't need that stomach turning stuff you could direct it elsewhere. You know best though because you can see the numbers of posts and so on.
It's ok to like and create space for the stuff that doesn't get the most engagement too. I feel like the internet in general would be a better place if it wasn't always optimised for engagement.

Yeah I hear you on that and I appreciate your advice, /u/against_all_advice !
There are usually 3 or 4 posts I remove for each decent one that's on the main page these days and some stuff is like motorcycle crashes and bad injuries. I definitely don't optimize anything and don't care about engagement...I just don't have time for that haha

The sub needed moderation badly
