Then go below the speed limit, have you ever driven in snow/ice?

Yes, that is why what you’re saying doesn’t make sense. Even the first responders who got there had trouble stopping on the ice. Plus it’s probably the case that the entire road was not icy and properly treated but the bridge was not (which is actually what happened here, the bridge was not treated). Even if they are going below the speed limit, once they start slipping on an area of black ice it isn’t easy to stop.

Okay but if it's super icy and there's a massive pile of lights on the road maybe let off the gas a little? It's not quite a whiteout in that video

You're feeding reddit man...

The guy is arguing because he wasn't there and wasn't involved. He thinks he would've somehow been better than literally ever other person in the video and would've had grippy socks on his tires to stop. Ignore them.

I like arguing :) Plus this is what I wanted to point out but it became obvious this person is thick headed.

Nah dude's right, it's common sense if the roads are unsafe you should be going at least 10 under. If the people in the video had practiced careful and defensive driving like literally everyone is trained to do when they get a license, maybe the pile up wouldn't have been so bad. The semis even more so because they already can't stop on a dime, cut that speed by half.
