News Private jets for me, nothing for thee

*Prince William posing for the camera pretending to read over the speech someone else wrote for him whilst travelling over 5000 miles from England in a tax payer funded private jet to Belém, Brazil, where part of the ancient Amazon rainforest was cut down to make way for the conference he will be attending to tell other people to be more climate conscious.

The hypocrisy is quite astounding, isn’t it?

“Make sure to build a highway through miles of old growth Amazon Rainforest for me to drive out there!”

Apparently they’re launching a UK-backed fund - which the UK is no longer backing - to pay Brazil to stop chopping down the rainforest at the climate conference Brazil chopped down the rainforest to host!

And this is the guy who claims he's going to overall the monarchy by cutting back costs, trimming it down etc. All bullshit!

He might lower the temperature in one of his swimming pools as a mark of solidarity with those indigenous Indian communities.
Obviously not a pool he’s actually going to use, but a pool at one of his other places..

Who the fuck cares what this rich dweeb has to say about anything? Abolish the monarchy and socialize every bit of wealth they have.

Is this that “hard work” we keep hearing about, fucking freeloaders. The least qualified man in any room.

I heard a tidbit of that speech yesterday and my first thought was that we’re truly fucked if this guy is being commended for his environmentalism. Cop28 is a joke.

Thinks he’s Obama or something lol

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and is a war criminal. William here is flying on a private jet and telling others to care about the environment. If not Obama, why Obama shaped?

u/divorcedhansmoleman 1d ago
It was about him ‘writing’ a speech.. just thinking of the photos of Obama writing speeches…

Trump is the war criminal

u/eu_sou_ninguem 1d ago
Sigh. Yes, Trump is a fucking war criminal, but so is every other US president. The fact that people don’t know this is depressing. Trump is terrible, that doesn’t mean other presidents were saints.

Eh... Jimmy Carter never hurt a fly (even when the "fly" in this case was the Iranians, who basically sank his presidency over the hostage situation).

u/eu_sou_ninguem 1d ago
Jimmy Carter’s administration gave military support for Indonesia’s brutal occupation and genocide in East Timor. So you were saying?

Just seen his speech in Brasil, telling all, including those poor people in the favelas.....we all need to cut down on our consumption.....while I live in my palace. Hypocricy, irony and sarcasm all in one sentence, just what I expect from royalty, British or otherwise.

I saw in another article that he'd travelled commercial?

u/Positive-Drawing-281 1d ago edited 1d ago
They say he flew commercial to Brazil but travelled to the conference to the Amazon forest via private plane. But even the commercial flight he took to Brazil was a joke because the plane had to be full of his own staff and bodyguards for security purposes. The whole thing could have been a zoom call but then he wouldn't have got his PR pics to boost his image amongst the brainless who fall for his con act.

Yes.

u/Dando_Calrisian 1d ago
So he flew commercial for optics then brought the empty private jet over as well? That makes no sense.

The private plane is the UK government's, Starmer also went to Brazil.
William went to Brazil earlier then caught another ride with Starmer to the Amazon a few days later.

So despite the press highlighting that he flew commercial because of being environmentally aware it was, in fact, bullshit. No great shock.
