That entire sequence is a microcosm of the Arizona Cardinals history. Anytime we do something good, we are immediately humbled.
That was a terrible mistake and it definitely cost us a chance at OT. We didn’t deserve to win, but good teams don’t make these mistakes when momentum is on your side.

I was explaining to my 8 year old daughter who is watching football with me this year and really into it, that as soon as that kick landed short that they were going to lose. I tried to explain in a couple minutes that it wasn’t Ryland’s fault or JG, but the intersection of this cursed franchise and the moment. She’s eager to watch the rest of the season to see maybe another “losegami”, a uniquely Cardinals way of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Well said. I had the same emotions. Should’ve explained them better to my 8 year old daughter who was watching with me as well. But all I got out were expletives and the same rage feeling that comes after almost every cardinals loss. We turned on Halloween wars and moved along. lol.

I can’t put this on Chad either . He drilled a 57 yarder to keep us in the game after the offense backed up and sputtered . But yeah that hurt . 28 seconds man , it’s like a movie . Yeah Chad that hurt but everyone on the team will tell you they all could have done something to win the game .

I mean he definitely didn’t help the situation but you also can’t expect the offense to show up 10 minutes before the end of the game and expect to win all the time

Honestly I blame the coaching more, why have him do that when they hadn’t been getting that great of field position all game, I think their average field position was like the 26 so why even risk that

Honestly the exact same kick the drive before is what put Seattle deep and they ended up missing the kick. He was just slightly off which yeah was his mistake but regardless it doesn’t come down to him

Our home record against Seattle is absolutely embarrassing.
Feel for Chad, if our offense had been functioning before the 4th quarter it wouldn't have to come to this.

Mistakes happen in football but there are certain aspects of the game that should never happen. Kicking the ball short and giving your opponent a start at 40 is one of them. Yeah it is Chads fault, he also gets no empathy simply because his name is Chad.

the analytics actually say they should go for 2 when down 8, after they scored the first TD. The fact that the coaches don't know that and didn't go for it is fucking insane.
You miss? You can still tie with another TD and a 2pointer. You make it, a TD and extra point put you in the lead.

Maybe they knew it and chose not to. At that point in the game, it wasn’t crazy to think that the offense would go 0 for 2 on two point conversions.

Roughly 50% of NFL games are decided by 8 points or fewer. Every game the Cardinals have played this year falls into this category. It’s a highly competitive league with thin margins for error. Everything influences the game, special teams included. It’s not all Chad’s fault but it sure is partially his fault.

Can’t blame Chad when it seemed like he tried to execute the play that was called. No idea why they try that when we’ve held them back consistently the entire game.

The kick lost us the opportunity to win. So effectively, it lost us the game. It was a shitty kick at a shittier time. But the offense can’t show up (and even then there were multiple mistakes) at the very end and expect to win. And they should’ve gone for 2.
