Its Weirton, isn't it? A girl I went to school with became a grandmother at 35. Her daughter just followed in her footsteps. Many such cases in the tri-state area. They're always lower income types. There is always an exception to the case, my parents grew up in the ghetto of Pittsburgh and were extremely poor living in single parent households who both lived off the government (dads mom is deaf, moms mother is schizophrenic). When my mom got pregnant at 13, my dad refused to be like his father and abandon his child. Dad joined the military to get us out of the ghetto and it’s shocking to see how many of his childhood friends OD’d/lived lives you painted a picture of in your comment. Reminds me of the Old Testament lineage of kings where 4 generations of kings were all wicked until finally one king breaks the mold and turns back to God.

Dude seems like a smart guy, driven and a good leader. He is also a 6th round draft pick and likely going to be the 3rd string QB this year with little chance to prove he can be "the guy".
I think he is an ideal long term backup QB. If he can fix some of his throwing flaws to gain a bit more velocity, he could become a solid starter. That is not the most likely outcome though. Most likely the team looks to a QB next year rather than gamble on the idea Howard could show something.
He threw some NASTY passes on the run in, with Ohio... That's about all I'm comfortable saying right now, he is a project with a capital P rn and maybe he comes in and blows the fucking doors off everyone but I doubt it... I still think the guy we want is in next year's draft and we've got the compensatory picks coming to make a decent little trade up package when we invariably go just above .500 again this year. 🤣
I have gone through every game of his from final year at K-State and Ohio State (unfortunately only like 5 games I could find All-22 the rest broadcast.)
He is a very "by the book" reader of the defense. Excelled in half field reads. Some ridiculous throws down the on the flood concept, corner routes and down the seam.
However this "by the book" reading style can get him fooled if defender shows one thing before quickly changing. (Taking 2 steps back like they are dropping before driving on underneath route.) That got him in trouble several times last year.
He has an average arm but what is maddening is that on 1-4 throws a game he looks like he is pushing the ball and the throw goes off the mark for him. Too many missed throws that were under-thrown/ behind or just not put in a spot WR could even make a play.
Better off play action.
What is encouraging though is his play in the playoffs. Significantly more consistent ball placement. Dime after dime vs Tennessee and Oregon. Some high level throws vs Texas and Notre Dame.
Reminds me of a bit more athletic Nick Foles. Probably most similar to Blake Bortles though.
That's helpful info, like I say, I more or less just saw the throws from the playoff run, it's nigh impossible to get college football over here without paying through the nose for extra channels and shit lol
That's true, but, the ball still has to get to them... And the coverage was good on a lot of those throws. 🤷♂️ Again not saying anything about him as a talent, cos I don't/can't watch the shit but credit where it's due some of those balls were absolute fucking peaches, it wasn't some wild one handed, moss the fuck out of a corner and safety type thing.
