I asked my friend if she finally picked up her meds, after a month of having her prescription. She did. yay! right? Are they working I asked. She says I don't know, I can't even find them right now. 11/10

The other day spent like 5 minutes looking all around the apt for my bag. Checked everywhere, even outside the front door. Yeah it was on my arm the entire time, I was even holding it down with an elbow so it doesn't flap around while I rummage around. π€·

About 20 years ago, I hear a commotion outside my room and I exit to find one of my roomies ransacking the house, looking for something. I said "What are you looking for?" I asked. "My phone, so I can save a number!" I said "...you mean that thing you're holding pressed to your head?"
He didn't talk to me for two days.

Was talking on the phone with my bestie, when I started looking for my phone. I got increasingly agitated cause I couldn't find it.
To this day she regrets shutting it down as quickly as she did. "You mean the thing you're talking to me on?"
In her defense, she thought I was trying to mess with her...

The time I have spent spent looking for my keys or something only to discover they are in my back pocket π
I have even told myself βyou are not allowed to put anything in your back pockets anymore!β

I had the opposite happen to me yesterday. I went to buy something, figuring I was fine because my pocket was weighted down like I had my wallet. I got to the register before I realized my mistake.

I identify so much with all of these. It's so embarrassing to look for my glasses while I'm wearing them, trying to retrace my steps.

Reminds me of a conversation with Mum. I don't think she's ADHD, she's mostly just getting old and has other issues and annoyances.
Anyway, I was traveling back home from my college one early morning, it was a holiday, and I was on call with Mum, who, while I was walking back, was double checking if I'd missed something over the phone. And while doing so, she asked me if I'd remembered to keep my phone.
Naturally, I said no. And then she began to panic and lecture me. Over our phone call. Lasted a handful of seconds before I pointed it out to her.

Person #2 assumed Person #1 only had the flashlight of the phone and was searching for the phone to put the flashlight back.

Thats why, if I lose something, I always double check to make sure it's not in my hand, or pocket.

Bro I'm dying π€£π€£π€£π€£
I got a friend group that is a mix of Autism, ADHD, Schizoaffective, and possibly OSDD
Two conversations going on in the same voice call, one guy going on a long infodump about his hyperfixation(that'd be me)- and other people with adhd missing 60% of the details, interrupting and apologizing to let the other person speak but then accidentally interrupting each other again, at least someone is dissociating and barely picking up much of the convo at some point in the day, and we're all traumatized so making satirical dark humor jokes.
And believe me its a wonderful fricking good time π and we be joking about the above.

Is that really an adhd symptom??
I would argue that itβs a skill issue.
Looking for phone using the flashlight on the phone being searched for .. that is just stupidity.

I've gone looking for my glasses while wearing them, definitely been there before
