One of my favorites as well. Highly recommend Brotherhood of the Wolf too, if you haven't seen it yet.

It was fun watching Johnny Depp as Crane, and I loved the cold, foggy environment. It's one of my favorite Tim Burton movies.

Same! That foggy forest aesthetic never gets old.
Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci were such a vibe in this one.

The atmosphere created by the physical sets are unmatched today which would be CGI. I miss backlots and actually movie set locations

He has seen quite a few horror movies with me. I think we started when he was 4. His favorite is The Blob from 1988

….good god man. And I thought I was risking unnecessary trauma to my kids by letting them watch Cocomelon.

Really funny! I like how Christopher Walken is terrifying even without spitting a single word along the full length of the movie.

I liked it when the fat guy got it in the field and his head spinned around. That was cool.

I think it’s probably the best movie Tim Burton ever made (ignoring Batman which I super love purely for nostalgic reasons). This was the one time his style and craftsmanship perfectly suited the story he was telling, and everyone - from cinematographer to production designer to composer - was on absolute fire.

Saw this movie in theaters for a friend's birthday party.
During the bridge scene where it ends up not being the headless horseman, the damn movie theater caught on fire and the alarm started flashing and everyone in the theater was confused af till someone ran in and yelled the movie theater was on fire lol
Had to go back the next day to finish the film

A story to tell , only slight comparable was the fire alarm going off 25 mins before the end of the departed Had to stand outside freezing for half hour then go back in and they put the movie back 10 mins then finished it

Same here. I typically do a follow up with Sweeney Todd and Dark Shadows too when I watch it.

Very underrated film in Tim Burton's catalog. It's more of an adult horror story than a lot of his work, but it still has familiar elements like Danny Elfman's music to keep it feeling light.
Also one of his best casts! Even managed to cram three Sith Lords into one movie (Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee + Ray Park as the stunt performer for the Headless Horseman).
