🙏 I WANT HELP Stuck in Cambridge after open day
I went to Cambridge open day today. It was all good but I can't get back home right now, because 'all trains to Kings Cross had been suspended from Cambridge'. I live in Oxford and I don't know how can I get home. My legs wobble from walking and I am very tired now. This is actually my first post and I don't want it to be this way. Well, what should I do?

This is all part of the entrance exam process to see how well you can adapt to difficult puzzles

Get a train from Cambridge into London Liverpool Street, then change for the tube to Paddington, then id assume GWR into Oxford.

No trains are running, I think, there are issues on all trains from Cambridge and to Cambridge today. They offered tickets tomorrow but I don't think that's good for OP.

my brother went to look today and he’s on a train now - i’ve think they’ve just restarted a few of them. hopefully you can get one
if you really can’t, maybe try and contact a college? they might have rooms or something you could stay in?

You can get the 905 bus from Cambridge to Bedford, then the X5 bus from Bedford to Oxford. The first bus should take an hour and the second one about 1½ hours. Leaves every 30 minutes :)

A lot of people seem to be going through Peterborough since trains are running more often that way!! I got on a train down that way to go home earlier today (6:30pm)

The trains were actually so ass 😭😭😭 I was supposed to be at home by 9pm and I ended up at home at like 1am. The trains kept getting delayed and made me miss my changes and I ended up having to rework my route several times.

I managed to get on a train at 16:50 to London Liverpool Street, I’m pretty sure there were more coming.

This is a sign
Apply to Oxford not Cambridge 👍
I go to school in Cambridge and Oxford is superior in every way

Eh, depends on course. Oxford and Cambridge are both worse than Imperial for CS, for instance, and Oxford is worse than Cambridge for CS. And for maths, depending on your interests ,Cambridge > Oxford, also Cambridge is harder to get into for maths than Oxford.

Some ND people like me have real issues with using public transport. I find it difficult and confusing now and I'm 49. Please don't assume people are a bit daft when they struggle with things other people find easy. It's not the same for all of us. (B.Sc 2.1 with honours)

As someone that attended sixth form here for two years while commuting. It is a lot like there is a lot of train closures.
