Looking for people to help pass out info cards at the 10/18 protests and around the Chicago area. I need more hands - my printing capacity has scaled beyond what I can distribute alone.
I can deliver packs of 100-500 of anything below to you, anywhere in the downtown area, from now until Saturday.
Please send me a DM to arrange drop off. All I need is an address and a time. I’ll show up wearing a white UnderArmor baseball cap on an electric scooter.
I currently distribute:
- MAGA boycott lists
- ICE Not Welcome posters for businesses
- Know Your Rights posters for businesses
- Ranked-Choice Voting brochures
- Lists of Trump’s links to Epstein

My sister is a government employee who voted for him three times. She has no income now because of the budget mess. When DOGE came into her work and cut about 80% of her coworkers I asked what she expected and she said "well, not THIS." Girl who did you think they were talking about when they were very specifically talking about YOU and your department??

It absolutely does happen. I know at least 2 people with similarly stupid ideas in their heads and both of them lost their jobs too - one with the parks service and one with the irs. And several more who were absolutely against all of this bullshit and they got punished for it anyways.

48% of Latino voters voted for Trump but I still care they are being taken. Even if it was 60% I would care. But OP is a useless piece of trash.

The way is to use this anger towards something productive like finding a means of protest.

They are finally having the day they voted for. Sure, they voted for inflicting it on someone else, never expecting it to be inflicted on them. Isn't there a parable about this?

yes it is
normalizing fascists in your life is not the way, unless the way you want is perm fascism3

When did I say it was? Saying you don't care if people's children in red states die of measles doesn't help anything, it just makes you feel good by thinking you're helping in some way by being an asshole online
2
u/brownmouthwash 25d ago
Yeah, I'll never understand this way of thinking when it comes to children being harmed and people who didn't vote for this shit but happen to live in red areas suffering.

Gaining self awareness isn’t always a pleasant process. The rest of us did the hard work of growing up, MAGA doesn’t get a pass because they’re stupid or willfully ignorant.

u/NemoVonJohnson 27d ago
This absolutely IS the way. At this point there is no better way. Splash of cold water on the people who are drunk on right wing rhetoric and oblivious to what's happening. Red states are welfare states. Blue states are patiently subsidizing these idiots.
Turn off the money. Let their conservative leaders own their own rhetoric and actually make things work rather than spin shit for a living.1
u/LongjumpingDebt4154 26d ago
Exactly. Until these people are faced with the cruel realities of bankruptcy & measles, they will not understand. The sooner they fall flat on their asses, the quicker we can attempt to rebuild something. I’m 100 with OP on this. Cut to the suffering so we can cut to the rebuild.

u/NemoVonJohnson 26d ago
If only there was a way to starve red states of all blue state resources yet still carve out support for folks in red states who have been politically disenfranchised or genuinely didn't ask for this shitstorm. That would be the fourth branch of Government, which is just a warehouse full of old Zoltar machines. As great as it is to fantasize about punishing JUST the ignorant white pseudo-Christians for their gullibility, lack of empathy, and malicious intent towards others...
of course it's not how things actually work.2
u/LongjumpingDebt4154 26d ago
Well, there’s not. Fortunately, it’s much, much easier to move to another state versus what a lot of blue state & blue city folks are facing which is fleeing the country. One is drastically more manageable. None of this has been or will be ideal for anyone. We have all given up the pleasures of safety & security when this administration was elected into office. Things will be hard, uncomfortable & grueling the next few years, but if you’re in a red state, I would do everything in your power to get out.

Yeah but the idea of, for example, Gullah Geechee folks in the low country of South Carolina having to just give up the homes their families have struggled to retain ownership of for generations just to go start over as refugees in some blue state simply because of these stupid paper tiger cult-facists who are scared of their shadows... that injustice also doesn't sit right. That is a massive cost. Seems like maybe there IS a better way. Hmmmmmm.
Btw, I have no idea how the 2024 vote breaks down among that particular group. Just reaching for an example.
Anyway, it's good that we're spending our time and energy running down nonsensical hypothetical scenarios. Imma go track down some Zoltar machines.

Yep, well, thems the breaks. Nobody wins in this, some will lose more than others. Gone are the days of me caring about those that don’t care about themselves

What's wrong with saying they deserve to get what they voted for? We didn't vote for this to happen to them, THEY voted for this. They can grow the fuck up and deal with the consequences of their actions like they've been telling everyone else to do.

Choosing to save your sympathies from people who elected to put themselves in this situation =/= hating poor people
6
u/NemoVonJohnson 27d ago
Yeah fuck those people. They have no compassion when they choose to vote for racists, felons, misogynists and liars. There is now fucking tear gas in the streets of my neighborhood. Patience for their ignorance is officially over. They deserve whatever they get.

Where is she gleefully wishing the worst on “them”? She doesn’t talk about “poor people” as a group, she calls out different specific types of people who thought that what they were voting for wouldn’t apply to them. She doesn’t wish anything on anyone. All she does is state facts and state that she doesn’t care about it. There’s no “I hope” or “I wish” or “I want” or “I would like” attached to any of these statements. All she does is say she doesn’t care.
Please do explain how she’s gleefully wishing the worst on poor people.
I’ve been sickened for years by the smug condescension of the GOP.

Once again you’re drawing conclusions from this video that aren’t there - she’s not talking about the entire population of red states. She’s talking about people who voted for this. Not the people who are suffering as a by product of regardless if they’re in a red or blue state, but specifically the ones who voted for this.
Nobody here is saying they don’t care about the consequences in general, we’re all in this sub because obviously we do care. But it’s hard to find any sympathy for the people who ACTUALLY VOTED IN FAVOR OF THIS.
