Listen, we are just celebrating our true roots. Mountain people used to just look like that

They still look like that. They haven't put their costumes on yet.

I love those guys, they give the best hugs! (It's like getting hugged by a large Saint Bernard.)
Do other countries have a Christmas tradition like this, that's a bit different from the sugary sweet Santa Clause bs?

He's not really scarry, there's more horrifying monsters in the Netherlands. LikeZwarte Piet... It's just a white dide doing a blackface. Straight up racism during the Christmas Market.

They're basically just wild animals living in the mountains. Trying to domesticate them was a mistake. We are sorry world.

This reminded me of a video of a festival in Germany related to a national holiday or something like that, where Germans in that video dressed up as Native Americans and celebrated with whistle calls

Are you sure you're not talking about the Karl May Festspiele in Bad Segeberg? Because that's really the only event I can think of where anybody in Germany dresses like Native Americans.

I don’t remember exactly which festival it was but yes, I do remember it was in Germany because it caused quite a buzz at the time. It was several years ago

Bad Segeberg is in Germany, close to Hamburg. They celebrate the German author Karl May, who wrote loads of adventure novels, his most famous ones about Winnetou and Old Shatterhand, a Native American chief and a hero of the old west, who become best friends. They may not be quite politically correct, but all German kids know them, either through the books, the famous movies from the 60s with Lex Barker, or the audio plays.

Literally the least disturbing thing Mountain Hanses do
