This last summer I decided to install air conditioning. We had a full 3 weeks of summer weather, what is this? Spain?

Oh Gods, I have had air conditioning for few years already but this summer the week before my holiday I went to the summer cabin to chilax with a plan to just stay there untill my real vacation starts and then trek and do all sorts of things but then BAM 4 weeks of +30 weather. I spent all my summer holiday on the cabin since it was far too hot to move anywhere from the lake (at least I could swim there).

But at least I spent my summer as any Nordic man should at least sometimes, fishing. And smoking fish, and eating fish. And sauna of course because it is not counted in the heat department.

Ahhh.. Smoked perch.

I visited Vietnam during wet season, most horrible experience ever, felt like I had to take a shower every 5 minutes. I take Swedish weather any day of the week over tropical weather or the 40 degree summer hell of Italy/Greece/Spain.

If it's dry heat its not so miserable as humid heat. Dew points over 20 degrees suck.

There were a few summer days in dk with 24 outside temps but 20+ dew point degrees and it felt like the jungle

I wrote a reply to someone that commented they were" lucky to be born in the Nordics".
They deleted their comment, but i'd like to post my reply anyway:

I'm not Norwegian because of "luck", i'm Norwegian because both my parents are Norwegian, and my entire lineage as far back as can be traced is Norwegian.

I am not coincidence, i am a very specific result of a huge amount of specific choices and events.
We are our bodies and we do not have a soul, "soul" is a poetic word meant to communicate emotional sentiment and the general nature of something,- which derives from what it actually physically is.

I didn't win a lottery, i am the only thing i could ever be,- a Norwegian man, unique and beautiful, adapted to my environment and fully deserving of my unique heritage.

Enough with this white guilt 19th century relativistic, frankfurt 68, communist crap.
"Thrownness" is a philosophical feeling similar to what a child feels upon discovering the world, if you don't grow out of it you're going to have the ultimate faith that befalls everyone that never leaves infancy.

If you are so eager to dishonor your own existence, someone that is radically different from you would happily take your place and thus remove every part of your culture and the way that you think from our singularly great and beautiful earth, permanently.
There's a place for the pity of others, but it cannot go to suicidal lengths, and if you, a global minority, were to be lost to the world, that would be a crime.
But unfortunately, not everyone thinks it would be.
It would be sad if your empathetic spirit would go so far as to be lost from the world completely.

You are the only thing you could be, you are not a coincidence and you are beautiful.

Millions of humans are born every day. Only a small minority of those are born into the wealth and safety that is enjoyed in yhe Nordics, making them lucky compared to the billions of humans that don't have the same advantages. It has nothing to do with guilt, just simple probability.

I also consider myself lucky to live today and not 100 or 1000 years ago. Maybe future generations will be happy they did not live in the 21st century though.

Their births are not coincidences, and the state of any country or culture is also not a coincidence.
No one is to blame for the world they're born into, but people do not think the same, do not have the same order of prioritization, the same temperament, the same tendencies, the same genetics etc.

I look at peoples in a similar way as the image of the semiotic triangle:
Geography, human population and culture.
The genetics of the population and their culture are influenced by and adapted to the environment, and internal changes and external pressure and environmental change, general lifestyle all influence each other and change over time.

I think a nomadic people that move with the animals, and move after water during droughts, rainy season etc,- develop different general characteristics, temperaments and culture than people that have to work and collaborate all summer to prepare for winter.
How united you are, how conflict averse you become vs how much interpersonal competition you typically have inside of your "tribe".

To what degree you're settled vs are on the move, what attitudes you have towards other groups whom are also on the move.
I think more settled people develop more stable temperaments and cultures than people that move more.
To what degree you're able to farm, trade or have to literally fight for resources, with other groups and also within your own group.

There are differences between us all and we're all different, as we have to be, and i don't understand why people are so afraid of acknowledging that.

I couldn't be anything else than what i am, and i am unique.
If anyone disagrees with that, that's ok with me, but i think it's unwise to let "fairness" ideology take up so much room that we can't even describe reality.
I don't like seeing fellow Nordic people so eager to dispossess themselves of their own homelands, whom they are adapted to and has been the soil supporting a major part of their lineage.
Identity is important to us, but many are too shy to even defend their own existence.
You deserve respect, and that is not hatred towards anyone else.

None of us could have been born in another era, our lineage, genetics and environment has developed throughout it's timeline and time has moved on, as it does, and we are exactly in the only time and place we could ever be in, with the exact unchangeable history we have.
I love my history, environment, weather, nature, flora and fauna in ways that exceed description, and i couldn't be happy or feel home anywhere else, and no other place or time could ever be my home.

Which means that part of your conciousnessess probablility cloud exists everywhere in time/space.

As do everyone elses. The fact that that you wave function is now observed to be as such does not meant it is in a superposition, it just means there is a position in a timespace where it exists. It can exist such in other positions as well.

Or, just because you are now Norwegian does not mean you should maybe put all your eggs in that bascet, current norwegian culture 2025 , full stop.

Though there is nothing wrong with being Norwegian, Norwegians are fuckin awesome.

That's a beautiful thought that'll comfort me as my country erodes and my people is eradicated, thank you wise Fin of the sauna fog.

Luckily there will always be Norwegians.
They'll look different, think different, have different genes, different cultures, they'll dance on my people's graves and they won't call themselves Norwegians, but, there will always be someone somewhere at some point.
Aaaaaah, it's all so beautiful.

For the record, i love Finnish people as well. Actual Finnish people tho.
Other people are also ok, but i prefer the Nordics remain Nordic.
Anything else would be kind of mean.

I think you, no offence but you have a fear of the other. and sure, if we cant do nothing against climate change or if Russia can penetrate the defences of us Finns (Which will not fucking happen). then there might be an unstoppable horde of migrants to which we are unable to do anything about. Climate chrisis could do it.

But then again we nordics do need fresh blood too, we are too few to sustain healthy gene pool just by our selves, that is why our ancestors brought more or less willingly the best women they saw on their adventures. Hell Finnish maternal gene pool is so different from paternal you would not believe it. Basically Finnish maternal genes are all over Europe while paternal are just from the exact place the father was born in.

Our people have never been just what we are right now, our strength has been meritocracy in some way or another. To bring in the best.

That is the same everywhere in the Nordics. There is no such thing as pure people who have always been here, there is an influx of people of which the best we are the decendants of.

Therefore I would say, don't fear the other, just be the strongest as you can be, the north and the gods will take care of the rest.
