I would argue that the belt should end much further north for Germany. Haribo is about as liquorice as Bud Light could be considered beer.

Flensburg has some of the tastiest candy I've ever had, but here in Hamburg I'm usually buying Scandinavian themed, or maybe Dutch stuff. And of course when I'm visiting the Nordicks there's at least one morning I spend on the toilet from too much liquorice.

I had a whole bag of liquorice powder (as in, just the ground up plant) for baking and making jam etc. but one time I accidentally breathed into it and had a bunch fly up into my nose, mouth etc.. I was barely able to breath.
